Don't Teach Your Kids this Stuff by Mr.Mcleod
I agree and disagree with Mr. Mcloed's statement. Scott Mcloed Kids should be able to use facebook, twitter and other uses of technology; however I think that the children should know the dangers of it. I would stess to them that predators that are on the internet and to never give anyone their private information. So, if students know the precautions of the internet, they should be able to use it.
The iSchool Initiative
I do agree with what he is saying. We need to prepare children for today and the future. However, many things can go wrong when using some of this technology. An ipod can crash, or it can get stolen. But I still think that overall we need to have our main focus on preparing children for the future.
My reaction to this video was mutual; however I agree with more of what he is saying than disagree. I think we need to do whatever it takes to prepare people for the future.
Lost Generation
This video made me get a reality of our society today. It made me sad and realize that people really do only care about money. People really do put their jobs before their family. But can we really blame these people? People have to work in order to make a living for their family. Now, 50% of marriages do not even last. i think that this has to do with our society and the way our society works.
The Schools of Tomorrow
I really enjoyed watching this video.Eric Whitaker's choir was very good. It's background and the way the video was set up was amazing. My favorite part to this video was when the kids are singing. This video was very peaceful.

Kathryn,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the importance of children being introduced to technology, and I also agree that we do need to teach them about online predators. So many children get access to chat rooms and inappropriate websites. These things we should monitor; however, we shouldn't completely cut them off from the world. One way or another, they are going to come in contact with this material. It is our job to teach them the danger of it, and hopefully, we will have enough sense to not put themselves in harmful situations.
